It was learned from the scheduling conference for Chenzhou city’s establishment of national forest city that all the indicators for the establishment work met or exceeded the national standard.

From 2011, 17.6billion yuan was placed on the 2.60million mu forest plantation with over 2.2billion trees. Currently, 20.757million mu forest land was available in Chenzhou city; the forest coverage was about 66%; living wood growing stock was over 48million cubic meters; green coverage in urban area was 42.4%; urban park land per capita was 11.06 square meters; greening rate for water’s edge was 91%; greening rate for highways and railways was 86%; greening rates for dispensing type and centralized type villages were 38% and 34% respectively; and the rate for joining in volunteer plantation was 87%.

The verification team of national forest city would carry out the final inspection and approval for Chenzhou city’s establishment work in the late of this June. It was required on the conference that all departments should fight for the final stage work to solve all problems; should check every details of establishment work to ensure all tasks to be fulfilled well; should coordinate with each other to promote the establishment work; and should enhance the supervision and carry out strict award and punishment measures to make sure Chenzhou city to establish as the national forest city successfully.
