When reporters arrived at Baishuxia group of Tianxin community, Tangdong sub-district, a clear and tidy-up condition has taken place of earlier’s chaos. Some slogans for the propaganda of civilization and sanitary construction were posted in the group, which helped to impress the villagers with the idea of sanitary.

Baishuxia group, where is located between Zixing central area and mining lot, is a typical urban village. Over160 pit toilets, pigsties and cattle pens were used to be set near the old house area. Rubbishes and weeds were full of there, which badly affect villagers’ living condition. Tan Chengjun- one of the village cadres of the group said to the reporters: “as you can see from the propaganda column, the key environment and sanitary problems hotly presented by the villagers were settled by organizing over 200 times of comprehensive renovation and placing over 100,000yuan to build new roads, remove the pit toilets and pigsties, and clear the blind areas. With all the efforts, the environmental condition was greatly improved, which satisfied the masses as well.”

On the process of carrying the educational practices of the Party’s mass line, all the leaders of Zixing city visited the communities in person to collect the comments and suggestions from the residents. Some problems as sanitary condition, street lamps, road condition and others in villages in city, joint part of urban and rural areas, five-small industries, and back streets and off-streets were the key concerns for the residents. On this point, a service mechanism about the communication between cadres of the departments and communities was established accordingly to improve the living condition of local people. 99 units and departments established the communication with 22 key renovation communities to carry out the renovation work with specified working task, standard and requirement. All the units and departments tried their best to collect the funds to support the communities to build new roads, set street lamps, tidy the pit toilets and remove pigsty, which greatly helped them to improve the living condition.

At the meantime, the environment problems for farmers’ market, five-small industries, back streets and off-streets and other places were renovated by relative departments to ensure all to meet the national sanitary city’s standards. Some on-site investigations, secret investigations, scheduling conference were held by the city regularly to check the progress and discuss the renovation work. Strict accountability system was handled out in the city as well. Till now, over 128million yuan has been placed on the renovation of farmers’ market to remould 7 farmers’ markets and 2 boot sectors of street market, covering about 2777 square meters in total.

It was introduced that the renovation for back streets and off-streets was one of the key well-being projects of the city. About 12.8million yuan was placed on the renovation of 19 off-streets and the environment around there. Upgrading of road surface, pavement, greening, drainage facility and others were covered into the renovation issues. Along with the improvement, people are granted with a healthier and more comfortable living condition.
