It was learned from Chenzhou Finance Bureau that 467.88million yuan ecological environmental protection funds for Dongjiang lake were issued by the central finance recently. These funds were the support capitals granted to Dongjiang lake after it was selected as the national key support lake.

According to the arrangement of the funds, they would be used for four aspects as the protection of drinking water source of Dongjiang lake, governance of pollution source of the basin, ecological restoration and construction of environment supervision capacity. 48 specific projects of Chenzhou municipal city, Guidong county, Rucheng county, Yizhang county and Zixing city were covered into the support list.

Dongjiang lake was enrolled into the list of national key support lakes in last December by submitting the application to the State Ministry of Finance and the State Ministry of Environmental Protection. 1.05billion yuan protection funds would be released by both central and Hunan provincial government in 3 years. The first part of 20million yuan has been issued by the central finance, and the rest would be released next year.

It was introduced that these funds gained from central finance was special funds which should be used in specific project, so stricter supervision and check of the usage of the capitals would be carried out by central and Hunan provincial government. Any illegal behaviors found and confirmed, some measures as reclaim the special funds would be handled accordingly. At the meantime, it was covered into the assessment of performance evaluation index, the region which was with large amount of balance of the special funds would be punished as well.
