Xu Yousheng emphasized on his investigation trip to Chenzhou city

It was reported that Xu Yousheng- Member of Hunan Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee and Minister of Hunan Provincial Propaganda Department visited Guidong county and Rucheng county from Oct. 22-23, 2014. Xu highly affirmed Chenzhou city’s work on propaganda of ideology and culture and confirmed that 2015 China (Hunan) Red Tourism and Culture Festival would be handled out in Guidong county. Xu emphasized that more attention should be placed on the integrative development of culture and tourism and should work best on cultural tourism industry. Xiang Lili- Secretary of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee accompanied Xu with this investigation.

Both Rucheng county and Guidong county were old revolutionary base areas and the key supporting counties for national concentrated destitute areas of Luoxiao mountains. In Guidong county, Xu Yousheng visited the First Army Regulations Square, former residence of Comrade Deng Liqun, Tang’s Houses, memorial hall for the Red Army’s revolutionary activities handled in Guidong county, and other red revolutionary sites. Xu also investigated the second phase of the square, new rural demonstration spot of Shuiwan village, Zhaiqian town, “free reading rooms” of Guidong county, Oucai Water Reservoir, Guidong Botanic Garden, outdoor base for the mass’s literature and art, Shantian town’s Hunan provincial demonstrative town construction, and etc. After checking the Oucai Water Reservoir which has been placed to impoundment, Xu stated that the top-level design should be well operated to upgrade Oucai Water Reservoir as another cultural tourism industry’s barrier of Guidong county where is famous as “summer resort, healthy heaven”.

In Rucheng county, Xu Yousheng visited former site of Xiangnan Intifada, national key cultural relics protection units- Rucheng ancestral halls, Lianxi Academy, new rural spiritual civilization construction demonstration spot of Jinshan village, Tuqiao town, Xiaoxiang Xinhexing Cinema, and some construction sites as renovation project of Reshui ancient town, Reshui Hot Spring Cultural Park, Reshui Hot Spring Square, and etc. The opening ceremony for 2014 China Chenzhou“city in the forest, leisure city” international (hot sprint) leisure tourism and culture festival would be held in the Hot Spring Square. Currently, all preparation work was handled out well. Jinshan village of Tuqiao town carried out sound protection work on ancestral halls and held series activities as renovation of ancient dwellings, treatment of rural sanitary condition and traditional folk cultural activities, and etc. to upgrade local people’s civilization level. Xu Yousheng highly affirmed all the work handled there and stated that due to the enrichment of local people’s spiritual and cultural lives, Jinshan village was becoming a new spiritual highland.

A symposium on propaganda of ideology and culture was held after finishing the investigation trips. The propaganda departments of Chenzhou city and counties presented their ideas and suggestions on how to handle the propaganda work next year. Xu Yousheng stated Chenzhou city carried out cautious and innovative propaganda work, and some innovative ways as TV administration were worthy being promoted in Hunan province.

Xu stated that close attention should be paid on the propaganda work to popularize the positive energies of Hunan province; more attention should be placed on the integrated development of traditional media and new media; more efforts should be tried on the cultural propaganda and cultural infrastructure construction to integrate different kinds of cultural resources, carry out some cultural activities and create more works; and more attentions should be paid on the theory and social propaganda to popularize the socialist core values.
Xu Yousheng greatly concerned about the integrated development of culture and tourism. He said the integration of culture and tourism was the best entry point for the development of cultural industry of the cities and counties. Chenzhou city carried out the tourism festival with different themes every year, which was highly helpful to popularize Chenzhou city’s fame. Guidong county and Rucheng county were with abundant red tourism resources, so more efforts should be tried on the integration and exploration of the resources to upgrade their tourism brands. Special supports should be placed for the promotion of Guidong county’s red tourism development. Other industries and economic and social development should be driven together with the cultural industry’s improvement.
