It was learned from Chenzhou Municipal Finance Bureau that 28million yuan funds were released by Hunan provincial finance for Yongxing 2014 rural environment continuous improvement project. It was the first part of funds received by Yongxing county after it was enrolled in the list of Hunan provincial rural environment continuous improvement projects. 80million yuan special funds would be released to Yongxing county in 2 years.

It was introduced that the promotion of rural environment continuous improvement project was handled out with the model of reward and compensation issued by central and provincial governments’ special funds and specified support unit figured out by provincial government. Currently, a project approval competition conference was held by Hunan Provincial Finance Ministry and Environmental Protection Ministry, besides four priority cities and autonomous prefectures as Changsha city, Zhuzhou city, Xiangtan city and Xiangxi autonomous prefecture, all the rest cities recommended one county (city or district) to attend the competition. After checking the data submitted by the competitors and their declaration, 8 counties (city or district) as Yongxing county of Chenzhou city were selected into the list.

Rural environment continuous improvement project is a project handled out with the unit of county (city or district) by figuring comprehensive rural environment improvement working plan and key contents of “clear home, clear garden, clean water and clean energy”. It is purposely to solve the incisive environment problems affected rural people’s health and rural development and build an effective and sustainable rural environment protection working mechanism and operation system. The renovation work includes clearance of garbage pollution spots, establishment of rural sewage treatment system, establishment of environment protection system for drinking water sources, and other 5 aspects.

It was learned that in recent years, Yongxing county followed the general concept of overall development of urban and rural areas and focused on the targets of improving livable environment and building beautiful rural area to strongly promote the rural environment improvement work. From 2011-2012, 11.26million yuan investment was placed by Yongxing county on carrying the rural environment improvement in 7 pilot villages. From 2013, over 260million yuan was placed on the rural environment improvement work on 143 villages. All the work greatly helped to improve rural area’s living condition and laid solid foundation to promote it rural environment continuous improvement project.
