Over 156,000 people of 6 towns and villages would benefit from it

Guidong downtown- Shatian public bus was placed to operation on November 22, 2014, which indicated that the integration of public bus for urban and rural areas of Guidong county stepped out the substantial pace.

As you can see from above image, the first public bus from Guidong downtown to Shatian town was being droved out from Luoxiao Square at 11:08a.m.

Along with carrying the educational practice of the Party’s mass line, Guidong county carefully listened to the big concern of the masses, took active actions to meet people’s demand and carried out the strategy of integration of urban and rural areas as an important measure for overall development of urban and rural areas, improvement of county economy, perfection of public transportation system, improvement of rural residents travel condition, equalization of public service, and elimination of dual urban-rural structure. The public bus from Guidong downtown to Shatian town was one of the key projects for it. Some staffs were designated responsible to handle the project. 3.2million yuan capitals were collected to build this “moving world” of public transportation of urban and rural areas. This public bus line will drive along Oujiang, Zengkou , Zhaiqian, Datang, Pule and Shatian 52 times by 8 buses. 156,000people live in the 6 towns and villages will benefit from this line.

It was learned that the public bus system was launched on September 27, 2009 in Guidong town. The passenger motor tricycles were banned in the downtown and its public bus lines were expanded from downtown to the towns and counties. More than 180times of public buses are operated in the down every day, which help to provide 2150seats of transport capacity to the public. 24 public buses are being operated for 4 public bus lines in Guidong county currently. In order to grant the public with better service, some favorable policies were issued by Guidong Jincheng Public Bus Co., Ltd. that the urban residents who are over 70 years old and the disabled who are with relative certificates are free to get the loving card, free bus for the students who attended college entrance examination every June 7 to 8, the ticket fees for Guidong downtown-Shatian is 40% lower, and etc. All those policies greatly benefit local people and shorten the distance between urban and rural areas.
