Over 100,000 residents who live near the water supply areas of Guiyang 2nd Water Plant found their water supply was cut off again from 8:00a.m. Nov. 26- 8:00a.m. Nov. 27. That was the second time since Nov. 10, 2014. But this time, the reason for cutting off the water supply was quite different from the earlier one.

It was introduced by Zhu Erzhong- one of the staffs of Guiyang Running-water Company that the reason for this time was to build a flow tank. Some water pipes which were set on the place of the flow tank needed to be removed. In order not to affect the urban area’s water supply for long time, the 2nd Water Plant have to stop the water supply for one day to lay another 100meters long water pipe.

The new laying pipe was big caliber deformed steel bar which can upgrade the water supply capacity from 30,000tons to 50,000tons daily. Plus the 3rd Water Plant’s supply capacity, the total capacity can be upgraded from 65,000tons to 100.000tons daily, which would reach the daily demand of 300,000 residents. During the cutting off period, the staffs also handled out the joint pipeline work for 2nd and 3rd Water Plant, which would help to regulate the water supply capacity during the low water flow period.

Beside to upgrade the water supply capacity, it was also the first time for Guiyang county to carry out the flow tank construction. This project was invested with 12million yuan, which was estimated to be finished and placed to operation at the end of 2014. Once finished, it would fully solve the problem of excessive sediment of water after rainfall.
