It was reported that Qu Hai- Deputy Secretary of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Chenzhou City investigated the safety of water supply in urban area and required that relative departments should take active actions to fight for the drought weather to ensure the water supply of people's daily life and production to be normal.

Due to less rain available in this year, Shanhe water reservoirs which is the key water source of urban area's water supply is with much lower water level. Currently, the storage of water was 9million cubic meters less than last year, which affected the urban area's water supply in a degree. In order to treat this situation, Chenzhoun city allocated Tiaofeng water source to supplement Shanhe water reservoir and carried out the upgrading of the reservoir's facilities to ensure it is capable to collect the water under low water level. On the other hand, it increased the water supply from small Dongjiang water plant, which would be helpful to meet urban area's daily water usage.

It was introduced that there would be rainy day in Chenzhou city on around Dec. 26, which would be helpful to relieve the drought.

Qu Hai visited Shanhe Water Reservoir which is located in the deep mountain and checked its water storage. Then he went to Wangxian lake to check its water quality and listened to their reports on emergency water collection solution. With years efforts of treatment, the water quality of Wangxian lake section of Chenjiang river met the standards of II class of surface water which is capable to be as spare water source in emergency condition.
Qu Hai stated that in order to fight for the drought weather, increasing water sources and saving water should be handled at the same time. Current water sources should be kept to be explored with more water collection points to increase Shanhe water reservoir's capacity of water supply. Small Dongjiang water plant should try 100% efforts to handle the production work and supplement the water shortage of Shanhe water reservoir. At the meantime the citizens should be mobilized to save water; the water usage management on construction sites, car washing industry, and etc. should be guided not to waste any water; and water usage for civil affairs can't use pipe water.

Qu Hai emphasized that water supply departments should optimize the service, well prepare for the emergency solution, and solve the problems as low water pressure, small water volume to ensure the daily water usage of residents. Notices concerned for the adjustment of water supply should be well propagandized to inform people make preparation beforehand. All relative departments should take active actions such as floating water supply, fire truck water supply, and etc. to relieve the water usage problem of people. Supervision work on the water volume and water quality of water sources and reserved water sources and protection work on water sources especially fighting for illegal behaviors should be carried out well to ensure the safety of water quality. Emergency water supply should be well led to handle scheduling and coordination work on time. Dongjiang river's diversion project should be finished sooner to solve the urban area's water supply problem fundamentally.
