When reporters arrived at the construction site of Wangxian lake water intake engineering at 10:00 p.m. on January 10, 2015, workers were still fighting on the construction issues.
It was introduced by Zhang Hui- the principal of this project that the water taken from Wangxian lake would be transferred to Shanhe Water Plant and supplement the water volume of the plant after purification. 3.2kms long DN800 steel tube should be laid for handling this project. There are 9 working faces for the project with the lift of 60meters. The whole project was covered with over 16million yuan investment. “The project would be finished in one week. Till then, it can be helpful to increase 80,000tons of water supply capacity of Shanhe Water Plant every day, which would meet the water demands of Chenzhou urban area.” He also stated that the water of Wangxian lake fully met the national surface drinking water standards. As calculated by the experts of Chenzhou Hydrometric Station, it is capable for Wangxian lake to handle the daily water supply of 80,000tons and such project would not affect the ecological condition of Wangxian lake.
It was introduced that besides the purchase of construction materials and day and night construction, more workers and devices would be dispatched there to handle the project. It was estimated that more than 240 workers would work there for 24hours section construction. “On receiving the task last morning, I arrived at the construction site in the afternoon. Till the 11:30 p.m., Hu Zhijun arrived at the construction site in hurry that even forgot to change the work clothes. “I got the notification last night at 11:00 p.m. and then took more than 20 hours train to arrive here. We would go to work immediately.” Hu Zhijun turned and ran to the construction site while he was talking to the reporters.
