It was learned from Yizhang Water Conservancy Bureau and management center of Leshui Dam irrigation area that this 1.49million yuan investment main canal passed the checking and acceptance before this Spring Festival. All 7.55 kilometers main canal was placed to operation. 

 

 

The treatment project of the main canal included the clearance of sludge, weeds and bushes along the banks, water proof，leak repairing, hardening, and etc. All 17 intakes were installed with unified water gates which can be helpful to distribute the water fairly and avoid disputes.

 

 

The problem concerned for Leshui Dam irrigation area that its irrigation capacity was shriveled from 14,000mu to 5000mu for lacking of maintenance was reported by Chenzhou Daily last year. On learning this problem, Xiang Lili- Secretary of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee placed the instruction that the rural water conservancy infrastructures should be improved on June 6, 2014. Three days later, Lei Xiaoda- Deputy Mayor of Chenzhou City held an on-site conference on Yuliu town of Yizhang county and confirmed the comprehensive ideas for the treatment of Leshui Dam irrigation area. 

 

 

"Implementation solution of the reinforcement and clearance of Leshui Dam irrigation area" was figured out by Yizhang Water Conservamcy Bureau after the on-site conference. 4 towns and counties along the area were in charge of clearing the sludges. Currently, the treatment if the main canal has been finished, and 4kms of the right main canal's sludge clearance work has been completed. The clearance work for 14.59kms left main canal and 12kms right main canal were still being under processes.
