In recent days, Linwu county dispatched 7 teams to 12 counties and towns and 22 villages to promote urban and rural greening projects by teaching the forest farmers with more scientific skills and solving the problems encountered by the farmers.

From November 2012, Linwu County Party Committee and Linwu Government carefully implemented the decision and arrangement of “three-year urban and rural greening project”issued by Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee and Chenzhou Government. The greening work was placed as the most important work of the county and was tried with all the efforts of the county. The county carried out “urban and rural greening battle” in 2012, pushed itself to “finish 3-year work in 2 years” in 2013 and presented the working idea of “consolidation and improvement, creating boutique, and comprehensive greening”in 2014, all of which helped the county to set 6 new top historic records on emphasis of leaders, investment scale, construction standard, speed of greening work, mass participation, and greening effects.

It was learned that in recent 3 years, 1.36billion yuan funds have been placed by Linwu county on the afforestation and greening work. 253,000mu barren mountains were afforestated with green plants; 0.98million square meters new greening lands were available in the urban area; 0.196million seedlings were planted in the county; 10 parks (gardens) were newly built in the county; the greening work for 435kms channels and 143.2kms rivers were finished; and 5 greening demonstration counties and towns and 20 greening demonstration villages were successfully established in the county. All the achievements helped it to fulfill the greening targets set for mountains, roads, water basins and urban and rural areas. In 2014, Linwu county was awarded with the title of “2014 Hunan provincial advanced unit of afforestation”.
