Spring is a sound season for afforestation work. In recent days, the forestry department of Zixing city well seized the chance to carry out the afforestation work in the city. It was aimed to improve the ecological condition and increase the foresters’ income by planting mixed coniferous broad leaved forest.

When reporters arrived at Gaotouling on March 12, 2015, many workers were actively planting trees under the light rain. In 2015, Zixing city took the best advantages of local yellow and red soil resource and selected the suitable trees by testing to handle the planting work of mixed coniferous broad leaved forest. It was introduced by the workers that broad leaved trees would be mainly planted on the middle line, while schima superba which was with the function of fireproof would be planted on road sides and ridge. It did not just take full use of land space and standing room and improve the site condition, but also help to enhance the capacity to combat natural adversities, increase the quantity of species and improve their quality, and upgrade its economic value compared with ordinary cedarwood. In 2015, 10,800mu new mixed coniferous broad leaved forest would be finished in Zixing city, covering 2million plants of cedarwood, camphor, nanmu, schima superba, taxus chinensis, and etc.
