It was learned from the assignment conference for 2015 protection of Xiangjiang river, 107 key projects of 19 categories which were based on 5 key points of “source control, channel clearance, protection of water source, recovery of ecology, and establishment of new system” would be carried out in Chenzhou city for the protection of Xiangjiang river.

As one of the eight cities in Xiangjiang river basin, Chenzhou city would keep promoting the protection of Xiangjiang river and carrying out 107 specified projects of 19 categories as safety of rural drinking water, reinforcement of dangerous water reservoirs, treatment of urban sewage, afforestation, recovery of mine, and etc. 286 integrated water supply projects would be carried out to fully solve the unsafety drinking water problem of 385,600 rural residents; 4 new or expansion sewage treatment projects and 9 sewage pipe network projects would be carried out in this year; upgrading and reconstruction work would be handled out in 5 above county level urban water supply plants with reconstruction scale of water supply facilities to be 140,000tons/day; 4 flood control projects of Qiaokou town protection circle of Suxian district, reconstruction of bank slope of west bank of Nuanshui river of Rucheng county, and etc. would be finished in this year; and the treatment of dangerous water reservoir would be accelerated to finish the reinforcement work of 303 dangerous water reservoirs.

On the conference, Li Ping- Member of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee Standing Committee and First Deputy Mayor of Chenzhou City required that the protection and treatment work for Xiangjiang river is “top one important project” of Hunan province, all departments should be aware of this and carry out the work strictly with specified responsibility system and should try best to ensure all annual tasks to be fulfilled successfully.

Zhang Aiguo- Member of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee Standing Committee and Deputy Mayor of Chenzhou City stated that all protection and treatment work should be carried out by law; more market methods should be applied to solve the financial matters; and the responsibility system should be implemented well to ensure all tasks to be completed well.
