It was reported that Qu Hai- Deputy Secretary of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Chenzhou City visited Zixing city recently and investigated the water safety work of Dongjiang Lake and Dongjiang diversion project. Qu Hai required that the safety awareness should be enhanced and monitoring for water safety of Dongjiang Lake should be strengthened to completely eradicate the accident and ensure the safety production trend of Chenzhou city.

On learning the overturning of a passenger ship in Jianli water area of Hubei province on June 2, 2015, Qu Hai immediately required Chenzhou Transportation Bureau and relative departments and Zixing city to fully check the potential risks and enhance monitoring of safety to avoid such accident happen again. In the morning of June 3, 2015, Qu Hai visited monitoring center of Dongjiang Lake tourist area, video monitoring center of Zixing water traffic and Dongjiang Lake tourist dock, and check the implementation of water safety measures. 

Qu Hai stated though series effective measures for water safety were carried out by Dongjiang Lake with sound achievements, the awareness of safety production cannot relax at any time. 2015 is the year of upgrading of safety production in Chenzhou city. Some accidents happened at home or abroad warned us the propaganda work, safety responsibility system, management, safety protection, monitoring and checking, praise and punishment, training for captains and shipping drivers, supervision for violations, forecasting, and some other relative work should be strongly enhanced by learning the experiences from others. “One-hundred-day battle”for the safety production should be carried out in the whole city, especially on the security renovation on traffic, mines, fire control, geological disaster control, flood control, and etc. to ensure Chenzhou city’s safety production trend to be better.

Qu Hai also visited Xinghong Village Water Plant and construction site of intake of Dongjiang diversion project to check the progress of the project. It was learned all work of the project which was started from last September was being carried out fluently. Till now, “three supplies and one leveling” work has been finished for Xinghong Village Water Plant and was about to start the main body construction work. Concrete pouring for the cofferdam of intake has been finished as well. The water tunnels were being constructed well from three working planes.

Qu stated that Dongjiang diversion project is one of the key well-being projects of Chenzhou city. It should be promoted under this sound construction season with more investments on devices, capitals, and working forces. The ecological condition of Dongjiang Lake should be well protected on the process of construction and the high quality water source should be well protected as well. At the meantime, closer attention should be placed on safety production.
