In recent days, Guiyang county signed the wind power contract with China Hydropower Engineering Consulting Group and Sinohydro Construction Group respectively. They are Liantang wind power development agreement with 50,000kwts installed capacity of 450million yuan investment, and anemometry agreement for Fangyuan wind power with 100,000kwts planning capacity. Till now, total wind power contracts signed in Guiyang county was amounted to 800,000kwts installed capacity. It was estimated that 1.6billion kwts clean power can be proved by the wind power projects of Guiyang county, saving 500,000tons coal.

Because Wuling mountain, Guiyang county is abundant wind power resources. It is one of the counties of Hunan province with most abundant wind power resources and is one of the regions of one-billion wind power base. According to the measuring, the wind power resources available in Guiyang county is one million kwts and annual effective wind powers is over 2000hours.

In recent years, Guiyang county kept the ideas of green development and transformation development, focused on the construction of new energy county and played best advantages of resources to fully promote the development of new energy industry especially for the development of wind power. From 2010, 4 enterprises registered the wind power companies in Guiyang county and built series wind power plants as Luhejin, Tiantangshan, Qiaoshi(Shuiyuan), and etc. Both investment scale and construction speed for the wind power projects handled in Guiyang county were ranked the top place of Hunan province.

In order to accelerate the construction speed of wind power project, Guiyang county set its target on establishing it to be "city of wind power" in 2010, and enrolled wind power into the key industry lists of "twelfth five-year plan" and "thirteenth five-year plan". Wind power industry was being promoted and cultivated as an emerging industry in Guiyang county.

At the meantime, Guiyang county handled out the planning and development of new energy (wind power) comprehensively to solve the problems as land, forestry, grid, environment protection, conservation of water and soil, protection of relics, complaints of the masses, and etc. All work provided great supports on accelerating and promoting the development of wind power projects.
