The coverage rate for water supply of administrative villages is up to 100%

“We used to load the water by shoulder pole. If encountered with drought, we had to pick the water in the cave where is about 1-2kms away. It was such a hard experience that we could not express well to you. But now, everything is good now, we are provided with tap water that do not need to load the water anymore.”Li Xiaoxiang- one of the villagers of Mashantou natural village of Jiahe county said to the reporters, “many thanks to the great policies issued by the upper level party committee and government that such a remote village as ours can be provided with tap water.”

In recent years, Jiahe county promoted the urban and rural drinking water safety work as the top one well-being project and well seized the good chance of the national project of implementing rural drinking water safety and construction of“Hunan provincial demonstration county of urban and rural integrated water supply”to carry out the construction work. Till now, 249million yuan has been placed by the county which helped to finish 6 safety drinking water supply projects with the water supply capacity of 5.63tons/day. 382,000 people of 273 administrative villages (communities and neighborhood committees) have been provided with tap water. The coverage rate for rural people’s safety drinking water supply and administrative villages’ water supply are up to 92% and 100% separately, which indicated the integrated urban and rural water supply format has been shaped in Jiahe county.
