Du required Chenzhou to carry out the strictest standards of environmental protection

Recently, when Du Jiahao- Governor of Hunan Province investigated Linwu, Guiyang, Zixing and some other places of Chenzhou city, he stated that Chenzhou should keep the concept of green development and carry out the strictest standards of environmental protection to accelerate the speed of scientific development along with protection of green environment. 

Figuring out three accounts based on the overall situation of treatment of Xiangjiang basin

Du Jiahao and his investigation team drove along the rugged roads in the heavy rain and arrived at Sanshiliuwan mining of Linwu county first.

It was learned that in recent years, followed the ideas of closing for reorganization, integration of resources and comprehensive treatment, Chenzhou city finished the integration of 10 mines of Sanshiliuwan mining by different models as auction, compensation purchasing, joint stock partnership, and etc. Sanshiliuwan mining was awarded as national demonstration mining of mineral resources integration.

Du learned the details of the treatment of Sanshiliuwan mining and highly affirmed Chenzhou city and Linwu county’s experiences and methods on the treatment of mines. Du also took some pictures to record the achievements on heavy metal pollution treatment of Xiangjiang river.

Du stated that all relative provincial, municipal and county level departments should figure out three accounts about ecology, politics, and well-being based on the overall situation of heavy metal pollution treatment of Xiangjiang river; should pay balance attention on the treatment of mining industry and ecological restoration; should take strong determination to study the afforestation work by closing mines, accelerate the ecological restoration and improvement of well-being of mining, resolve both symptoms and root causes, and contribute more to the heavy metal pollution treatment of Xiangjiang basin.

Paying attention on both investment attraction and investment selection

Du Jiahao and his investigation team visited Non-ferrous Metal Technological Industrial Park in Guiyang county under rain. It was introduced that the industrial park which covers 15.7 square kms planned area is mainly on metallurgy and comprehensive utilization of non-ferrous metals and deep-processing of non-ferrous metal products.

After learning transportation, land, resource, and environmental capacity, and other details of the industrial park, Du said it should set up the concept of establishing the “one-hundred-year industrial park”and cultivating “one-hundred-year enterprise”to attract and select the investments; should follow the strictest standards of environmental protection to regulate the behaviors of the enterprises settled down in the industrial park, encourage the green and environmental protection enterprises’ development and attract more environmental protection enterprises to take root, grow up and expand in the industrial park.

Du Jiahao and his team listened to the report delivered by Yizhang Chemical Engineering Industrial Park afterward. Du stated that it should focus on actual effect of the construction of industrial park; and every industrial park should figure out the account about the investment & yield and economic effect & ecological effect, should pay more attention on the economical and intensive usage of land, should enhance the technological improvement and expand the industrial chain, and should reach the harmonious development of enterprises and local places and improvement of well-being condition by the green development.

Dongjiang lake should try to be improved as the model of water resource protection

At dusk, Du Jiahao and his investigation team traveled to Zixing city, investigated the water environment protection of Dongjiang lake and visited the academician working station of Dongjiang lake water environment protection.

The academician working station mainly handles the work on water environment, atmospheric environment, and implementation of ecological compensation system of Dongjiang lake basin.

Du Jiahao required that removal of livestock breeding farm around Dongjiang lake should be covered into the treatment of breeding pollution of main stem of Xiangjiang river and should be provided with significant support.

Du expressed his delight on seeing so clean and elegant water of Dongjiang lake two years later. He said Dongjiang lake is a green jade decorated in Hunan province. He also highly affirmed that the situation of “pollution first then control” never happened in Dongjiang lake, and the protection work handled out for Dongjiang lake as some innovative water resource management and water environment protection were with great effects. He hoped that Zixing city should further enhance the protection of Dongjiang lake by handling more innovative methods and try to improve the protection of Dongjiang lake to be a Hunan provincial model of water resource management and water environment protection.
