It was reported that recently the opening ceremony for cooling and heat supply of Zixing urban area & Dongjiang lake big data industrial park was held in north bank of Dongjiangwan recently.

Both the two projects cooling and heat supply of Zixing urban area and Dongjiang lake big data industrial park were the newly introduced strategic emerging projects relied on cold water resources of Dongjiang river. The cooling and heat supply of Zixing urban area was relied on the cold water resources of Dongjiang river and residual heat resources of heat-engine plant. It is a low-carbon and environment protection project for the concentrated cooling and heat supply of Zixing urban area, which produces cooling and heat comprehensively by utilizing refrigeration circle system and heat exchange system. This project is being handled by Canada Maple Energy Company and Zixing Government. It covers about 2.65billion yuan investment and will be handled out by two phases for 5 years. The first phase is estimated to be finished in 2017, while the second one is to be finished in 2019. Once finished, 16,000MWh heat and 110,000MWh cooling can be provided for the 4million square meters urban areas annually, which would be helpful to reduce 120,000tons carbon emission and save 45,000tons of coal. It is an international low-carbon demonstration project promoted by both China and Canada governments. Zixing city is expected to be an exclusive ecological demonstration city without air-conditioner hanging machine in China.

Dongjiang lake big data industrial project is focused on keeping constant temperature and humidity in the big data center of internet by utilizing the cold water resources of Dongjiang river and advanced cooling and insulation technologies. It covers 1billion yuan investment. Once finished, it would become one of the most competitive and best energy-saving big data operation center in China and would attract some large scale internet enterprises of China Telecom, Huawei, ZTE, Tencent, Ali, Baidu, and etc. to settle down there.

These two projects are significant to accelerate the industrial transformation of Zixing city, upgrade its city level,and improve local people’s living condition, and will be helpful to further promote the pilot reform of national new urbanization and construction of ecological civilization city.
