When reporters arrived at Shanshiliuwan of Linwu county, a new green and ecological sceneries has replaced earlier dirty image.

Sanshiliuwan Mine was located in the upstream of Xiangjiang river. Because of the disordered mining, it was used to be a place full of tailings and suffered from serious heavy metal pollution. The retreatment of Sanshiliuwan greatly mattered the overall treatment of Xiangjiang river, improvement of well-being condition, overall development and construction of well-off society. In recent years, different strict measures were carried out by Shanshiliuwan to handle the comprehensive treatment of heavy metals and afforestation, which enabled the barren mountain to be with green cover and greatly helped to improve its ecological condition.

In recent years, following the concept of construction of ecological civilization, Chenzhou city reworked out the planning of national model city of greening. It focused on four key projects as “green mountain, clear water, blue sky and green land” to carry out 9 ecological demonstration projects as the treatment of Sanshiliuwan. 11 counties (districts) were covered into the upgrading of forest ecological landscape. Till the end of this May, 410,000mu afforestation work has been completed in Chenzhou city. Guiyang, Jiahe and Linwu county which were covered in restoration and control of ecological plants in Sanshiliuwan area finished 166 hectares afforestation work and sealed 4445 hectares hills for forestry. 64 projects which were designated for the protection project of Dongjiang Lake were being carried out by Zixing city, Guidong, Rucheng and Yizhang county. 9 of them have almost been finished, and the rest were being promoted rapidly. Concerned for the protection project of water sources of “three rivers”( Xiangjiang river, the Pearl river and Ganjiang river), Guiyang county have finished treatment of 2130mu slop croplands. The first phase of comprehensive treatment of Rucheng small rivers and first phase of Reshui river landscape belt have been completed. Beihu district, Suxian district, Yongxing county and Guiyang county were covered in the construction of Xihe water ecological landscape belt. Till now, 880million yuan investments have been placed on the project, which helped to finish 62.2kms greening work of riverways and 88.9kms of tourism lines.

Concerned for the project of ecological infrastructure of national principal functional region, the implementation solution pilot of Chenzhou city principal functional region has been submitted to Hunan Reform and Development Commission; and Yongle river, Yangtian lake and Xihe river’s application of national wetland park and Shizikou mountain’ s application of Hunan provincial natural reserve are being promoted fluently.

Concerned for the construction of ecological civilization education base projects, Science Museum of Nanling Botanic Garden, Ecology Display Hall of Suxianling, and Jiulaofeng Landscape’s establishment of Hunan provincial ecological education base are being promoted well. Concerned for the rural demonstration projects of ecological construction, environment treatment tasks set for 216 villages have been fulfilled and greening upgrading work set for 96 towns and counties and 461 villages have been completed as well.
