It was reported that the inaugurating ceremony for 12th batch of Hunan provincial water conservancy landscapes was held in Hunan Water Conservancy Department on December 10, 2015. Donghe River- Zhongxi River Water Ecology Project which was submitted by Chenzhou High-tech Industrial Zone won the title of “Hunan provincial water conservancy landscape”. Other four water conservancy landscapes from other cities of Hunan province were approved as well.

Chenzhou High-tech Industrial Zone paid close attention on the construction of ecological industrial park for a long time. Concerned for the water ecological civilization construction, it well seized the chance of treatment of heavy pollution of Xiangjiang river to handle the ecological treatment of Donghe river and Zhongxi river. The 1000mu big Jintian lake and 600mu big Liuxian lake were built on the tailings stacking area, a wetland reservation zone was set up in Zhongxi river, and Donghe- Zhongxi river system connection project was fulfilled as well. Thanks to projects as water ecology recovery of the two rivers and the river system connection, the wetland areas of urban area was increased, drainage capacity of urban area was upgraded, and ecological environment was fully improved, all of which granted the area with sound image of clear water, green banks, beautiful scenery and diversified species, and improved the city with brand of livable living condition, harmonious ecology, leisure, and unique culture.
