The main raw materials of graphene are microcrystal graphite and crystalline flake graphite. Chenzhou is largest production base of microcrystal graphite of China even the world. Currently, the graphene industry of Chenzhou city is ready.
Wang Hongbo- one of the representatives of Chenzhou Municipal People’s Congress considered that though relative departments of Chenzhou city paid close attention on the improvement of graphite, the supports of industrial policies and measures are still weak. He said: “There is long history for graphite mining of Chenzhou city, but it also faces many leftover problems, especially for the process of graphene, such as poor technological innovation, imperfect deep processing industrial chain, lacking of base and innovation platform and relative brands and talents, and etc.”

As for this situation, Wang suggested that the development of graphene industry should be covered into the major planning and project data base of “13th five-year plan” and the construction of national graphene industrial base should be improved as well. At the meantime, more supporting policies should be formulated to support the industrial development and explore some graphene products with proprietary intellectual property rights on the basis of research and development of microcrystal high-grade products. More measures should be handled out as well to transfer the study results to productivity, and then formulate industrialization to upgrade their competitiveness.

“The industrial development is reliable to the cultivation of talents. The government should issue more favorable policies to introduce more high level talents, perfect the logistical supports, and solve the problems hindered on the way of enterprises.” Wang suggested that in order to improve the graphene industry, more attention should be placed on the introduction of talents and establishment of talent information system. Furthermore, industrial base should be established to establish the brand strategy and promote Chenzhou city to be R&D and industrial cluster base of graphene industry of China and the world.
