Wang Bing: Opening Green Channel for the Aged

2016-01-19

“The green channels are set for the aged in some industries, such as ticket office, public buses, and etc., but still not available in health care places,” stated by Wang Bing- one of the representatives of Chenzhou Municipal People’s Congress on January 15, 2016.

“Most of the patients have the experiences that they have to stand in a long queue for registration, consultation, examination, and other issues in hospital.” It is ok for queue on line, but we have to take consideration for the aged, said Wang Bing.
The reason why Wang could present this proposal was because he learned something from his friend whose aged mother went to see the doctor. His mother, who can’t walk well in ordinary time, can’t stand well when she was sick. But they spent a whole day to finish the processes of registration, consultation, and B ultrasound exam in the hospital. His mother was exhausted after waiting for so long time.

Currently, structure of social aging is becoming faster, so more attention should be paid on the aged people’s situation to see a doctor. Wang suggested to opening green channel in the health care places for the aged people. Just as “paediatrics”, “geriatric diseases” can be opened in the hospital as well with some special services, such as lower floor, mobile exams and facilities, sufficient supplementary facilities, wheel chair, and etc.

“Chenzhou Government should try to upgrade the public sanitary service, and create harmonious environment to the aged people, and ensure them to enjoy happy life in their later years,” said Wang Bing.
