It was learned that expansion project of Cha’an water reservoir which covered with 155million yuan investments was launched on Jan. 27, 2016. It is significant for solving the drinking water problem encountered by Anren people and improving local ecological condition as well. Zhang Xihui- Member of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee Standing Committee and Minister of Propaganda Department announced the opening of the project.

Cha’an water reservoir which is located in the midstream of Lianghuagang of tributary of Yongle river was firstly built in 1958. It is a middle-size water reservoir about 50kms away from the downtown of Anren county and plays the roles of irrigation, flood control, cultivation, and etc. In recent year, along with the development of local tobacco industry and new technology of paddy, its capacity can’t meet the demands of modern agriculture. Anren County Party Committee and Anren Government tried great efforts in last four years to obtain the upper level department’s support. In last October, the expansion project was approved by the China National Tobacco Corporation as construction aid item of water resource project of national tobacco industry. The expansion project mainly includes following contents: heightening and consolidation of dam, reconstruction of spillway, reconstruction of upper dam road, protection of banks and slopes of downstream river channel, improvement of ecology, protection of water source, and etc. Once finished, it will generate great economic and social effects and provide powerful water resources supports for Anren county’s agriculture development.
