It was learned from Chenzhou Tourism Bureau that the list of first batch of creating units of national demonstrations of popular tourism has been approved by some experts. Suxian district, Guidong county, and other 11 places were enrolled into the list.

It was introduced that the other 11 places of Hunan province are Zhangjiajie city, Xiangxi Tujia and Miao minority autonomous prefecture, Wangcheng district of Changsha city, Zhaoshan demonstration of Xiangtan city, Pingjiang county, Yanling county, Xining county, Shaoshan city, Shimen county, Daotong Dong miniority autonomous county, and Xinhua county.

Popular tourism refers to the development mode which takes a specified region as a comprehensive tourism destination and handles comprehensive planning, management, and marketing of it, which can promote the popular development of the whole region. The establishment of “national demonstration of popular tourism” is purposely to promote the transformation of tourism industry from “landscape tourism” to “popular tourism”.

Principally speaking, 2-3years will be granted to the creating units for handling the establishment work. Once approved, the units will be enrolled into the directory of “national demonstrations of popular tourism”. All the units can’t keep the achievements of establishment work will be cleared from the list.
