“One billion yuan will be placed on solving the problem of ‘large-class’ in urban area within 3 years.” introduced by Liu Yangping- Secretary of Party Committee and Director of Guiyang Education Bureau. From 2016, Guiyang county will increase 25,000 schooling vacancies by building and reconstructing some more schools, which can fundamentally solve the “large class” problem faced by the compulsory education of urban area. On February 2, 2016, “3-year action for solving the ‘large class’ problem of the compulsory education of Guiyang urban area” was launched officially.
In recent years, Guiyang county placed highly attention on the expansion of compulsory education in urban area. It placed more than 600million yuan to purchase some private schools and expand some public schools, which helped to provide more than 20,000 schooling vacancies. With the development of urbanization, the total population of Guiyang urban area is over 200,000 now. 44,900 of them are the children under compulsory education age, accounting for 44.6% of the total number of compulsory education students. On facing such rising situation, Guiyang county set up a leadership team which was led by Secretary of Guiyang County Party Committee and Head of Guiyang County to solve the “large class” problem and fully implement the 3-year action.
It was learned that in following three years, Guiyang county will build and reconstruct some more schools, which can provide 15,000 schooling vacancies for primary schools, and 10,000 vacancies for middle schools.
At the meantime, the county will handle alliance between urban high quality school and rural school. The principal and teachers of the schools which reach the alliance will shift to work in the partner’s school. It will fully improve the schooling condition of rural schools to narrow the gap between urban and rural areas and shunt some students. On the other hand, the county will pay closer attention on the regulation of schooling to grant sunshine and fair enrollment condition to all students.
