It was learned from Linwu county that in recent years, it paid more attention on “culture+” to upgrade comprehensive competitiveness via the improvement of culture. Its GDP was estimated to hit 10.8billion yuan in 2015, up 8.7%; fixed assets investment reached 10billion yuan for the first time, up 19.1%; and added value of scale industry was amounted to 3.04billion yuan, up 9.0%.

Linwu county highlighted “culture + spirit” to strengthen its “soft power” and promote economy “hard power”, and drove the improvement of different work by inherit and carry forward revolution spirit. Currently, some relics of revolutionary predecessors as General Xiaoke, Commander of 34th Division of Red Army, Wang Shulan- Sister-in-law of Mao Zedong, Comrade Fan Zhuo, and former sites of intifadas, martyrs’ park, and etc. were reserved there. It also carried out some special propaganda activities to popularize socialism core values in the county.

It paid special attention on carrying “culture + events” to improve the cultural industry. Cultural stations, rural reading rooms, and village cultural entertainment rooms were fully facilitated in the administrative villages, which greatly enriched local villagers’ cultural lives. Some professional and amateur artistic performance troupes which were operated by local people were supported by the county. Now there are 26 folk artistic groups with 316 members available in the county. Some boutique works were worked out by the groups. In 2015, more than 50 shows were performed in the villages of Linwu county, as well as more than 4000 films.

Furthermore, the county paid great attention on “culture + industry” to improve red culture, Buddhist culture, ecology culture, wind power culture, jade culture, wood carving culture of Xiangnan folk dwellings, and etc., which greatly upgraded the influence of “charming Linwu” and helped to establish new tourism brand of the county. It expanded the construction of Donglin Temple and developed Xiyao Lvgu National Forest Park, Sanshiliuwan Tongtianshan Landscape to be new tourism highlights of the county. During 2016 Chinese Spring Festival, 102,000 visitors were received by the scenic spots of the county, contributing 63.50million yuan, up 17.3% and 20.5% respectively. It also integrated the cultural element into its agricultural products that Linwu duck which is one of the eight famous ducks of China, Shatian Niuba, and other brands were forged to be protected geographical indications of China.
