First Tourism Police Brigade of Hunan Province Established in Zixing City

It was reported that the first tourism police brigade of Hunan province- Zixing Tourism Police Brigade was established in Zixing city on April 28, 2016 and was on duty at the same day. The brigade will take the charge of maintaining the safety of Zixing tourism market. It is a further step taken by Zixing city to explore new idea and mechanism on improving the development of tourism industry and supervision of industry.

 

In recent years, leading by Dongjiang Lake National Landscape, Zixing city integrated the characteristic agricultural products and other tourism resources of Huilong Mountain, Swan Mountain, Shoufo city, and etc. where are places around the lake to improve the tourism industry to be pillar industry for its economic restructure development. In 2015, Dongjiang Lake was successfully approved to be national 5A landscape and was selected as “the most popular landscape” of 2015. Due to the range of tourism industry chain is too large to handle the enforcement by single department, Zixing city decided to set up the first tourism police brigade of Hunan province to regulate the order of its tourism market and improve the development of its tourism brand, as well as to grant the tourists with comfortable and safe travel condition.

 

It was learned that Zixing Tourism Brigade consists of some police staffs from Dongjiang Lake Water Police Station, the landscape detachment of Traffic Police Brigade, and some other police officers. The badge of “Tourism Police”(“旅游警察”) is tailored on the uniform of the new brigade. The staffs are facilitated with individual police equipment and enforcement recorder. Furthermore, some automobiles and motorcycles are distributed to the brigade. It is mainly in charge of handling joint enforcement work with some departments as tourism, food & marketing supervision, traffic, and etc., and fighting against some illegal behaviors which badly affect the tourism order. Some other tourism-aid work are also deployed to it.
