It was learned from the press conference of Chenzhou Environment Protection Bureau which was held on June 6, 2016- World Environment Day that 17 of 26 indexes concerned for the establishment of national model city of environment protection were fulfilled by Chenzhou city, which indicated that the establishment work was being promoted gradually.

According to the regulations of the establishment which was issued by the Office of State Environment Protection Ministry, 137 sub-items of 26 indexes, 5 categories of “basic conditions”, “economy & society”, “environment quality”, “environment improvement”, and “environment management” were listed there, accounting for 1270 scores. With one-year effort, 17 of the 26indexes were fulfilled by Chenzhou city, while 6 were fulfilled partly and 3 were failed.

The indexes failed were as follow: stability of key industrial enterprises emissions, mainly on the failure of clean production audits and preparation of environmental emergency plans and discharge permit; periodic inspection for the environment protection of vehicles, mainly on the failure of construction of inspection station; and skills on environment monitor, supervision, information, propaganda, and etc. did not meet national standards, failing to fully pass Hunan provincial approval.
