“Daily cleaning and days- waste lorry are being handled in our village, so there is no more accumulation of garbage here. The sanitary habits of villagers are better that all of them are aware of cleaning the garbage after some events.” When reporters arrived at Longguiping village, Linwu county recently, Zhu Xianpei who is an old Party member highly appraised the improvement of rural sanitation.

In recent years, in order to improve rural sanitation fundamentally, Linwu county followed the specified working idea to promote the work.

In order to solve the collection and disposal of household garbage of rural areas, Linwu county forcefully carried out integrated collection system of urban and rural areas. It placed more than 70million yuan on the construction of garbage field in eastern zone which is with the daily disposal capacity of 160tons. More than 10million yuan special funds for rural environment treatment were dispatched by Linwu Finance, which was mainly used for rewarding the construction of sanitary facilities, special management of dangerous and old houses, and etc. Garbage transfer station and garbage pool were built via collecting some town and village investments, as well as some garbage bins and vehicles. Some sanitary workers were hired there too.

According to the statistics, till now, 119 rural simple landfill sites, 4 garbage transfer stations, 500 garbage pools, 450 garbage bins, 300 mobile garbage vehicles, and 6 sprinklers have been facilitated in Linwu county. Thanks to the new collection, transfer, and disposal measures, the rural garbage pollution of Linwu county was solved effectively.

Besides the garbage disposal work, Linwu county placed more attention on rural sanitation management as well. It figured out relative management solutions and regulations to promote the regular management of rural sanitation work. Rural sanitary work was listed in the annual assessment of the rural leaders as well. In the meantime, specified rewards and penalties mechanism was figured out as well.

Thanks to the new garbage management model and long-term rural sanitation management mechanism, rural sanitation was improved effectively. Garbage pools and garbage bins are facilitated in the rural areas of Linwu county. Hundreds of sanitary workers are in charge of the daily cleaning work there.
