It was learned that according to "2016 Top 100 Prefecture-Level Cities for Development of Well-Being" which released recently, Chenzhou city was ranked 41st place.

It was introduced that "2016 Top 100 Prefecture-Level Cities for Development of Well-Being" was organized by "Well-Bing Weekly" of People's Daily. It authorized well-being research group of Beijing Normal University to handle the study work. The information of 262 prefecture-level cities from 27 provinces and cities of China were collected by the group for the study and comparison of their regional well-being development indexes.

As a part of "Chinese Well-Being Development Report" which is released by Beijing Normal University, the list mainly focuses on urban well-being condition, covering 5 secondary indexes and 29 third grade indexes on well-being foundation, income and consumption, accommodation and traveling, culture and education, safety and health, and etc. The basic data were sourced from the public yearbook or authorizes information published by relative departments.

According to the list, following 6 cities are from Hunan province: Hengyang(33rd), Chenzhou (41st), Yueyang (58th), Xiangtan (66th), and Yongzhou (96th).
