March 19 is the 13th International Social Work Day, the launching ceremony of International Social Work Day Promotional Activities in 2019, sponsored by the Social Organizations Incubation Base of the Civil Affairs Bureau of Suxian District, and the Chenzhou Huiai Social Work Service Center, was held in Fudi Square of Suxian District. More than 300 people, including the heads of the District Civil Affairs Bureau, District Civilization Office, Street Civil Affairs Office, and social organizations, residents' representatives, social workers and volunteers, participated in the launching ceremony.

Through exhibition board publicity, award-winning questions and answers, social workers' representatives initiative, volunteers' dancing and other activities, the event let community residents more truly understand the value of social workers, strengthen the public's recognition of social workers, and more support and care for vulnerable groups.

In recent years, the vast number of social workers in Suxian District have used their professional advantages to extend assistance to poor families and other people in need, help them link resources, build support networks, tide over difficulties and restore confidence in life; provide needs assessment, psychological comfort and resource support to special groups such as children, the elderly and the disabled, so as to help improve the livelihood development situation; provide spiritual care for the special groups such as adolescents with bad behavior and community correctors, to help correct behavioral deviations, alleviate psychological emotions, develop social functions and promote social integration. Social work and social workers win social recognition and public recognition with good professional image and excellent service effect, and play a positive role in building a harmonious society.

The theme of 13th International Social Work Day was "Dream building, social workers in action". Under the guidance of Xi Jinping's socialist ideology with Chinese characteristics in the new era, social workers in Suxian District will fully implement the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress, and promote social work to take an active role and take initiative in participating in poverty alleviation, rural revitalization, serving the people in distress and coordinating social governance, so as to make due contributions to win the well-off society in an all-round way, build a "regional development pole, Chenzhou new center" and create a new situation of high-quality development in Suxian District.
