Anren Xiongfeng Mountain National Forest Park was founded in 2003, formerly known as Dashi Forest Park. In 2006, it was upgraded to the provincial forest park, set up the Dashi Forest Park Authority in 2008, and was chosen as the provincial agricultural tourism demonstration site by the Hunan Provincial People's Government in 2010.

In 2011, the County Party Committee and County Government taking the former Dashi Provincial Forest Park as a leader, invested nearly 100 million yuan, fully integrated landscape and human resources, and actively created Xiongfeng Mountain National Forest Park (reported to the relevant departments that approved to change the Dashi Forest Park into Xiongfeng Mountain Forest Park on August 1, 2011), to create a national 4A level tourist attractions and the China's most unique Shennong culture tourism resort.

On December 17, the park successfully passed the review of the State Forestry Administration expert group and officially became the national forest park. The park with a total area of 6161.0 hectares was divided into four scenic spots: Xiongfeng Mountain Scenic Area, Houtanxian Scenic Area, Jiulong Temple Scenic Area and Longji Mountain Scenic Area. The park is located in the southeast of Anren County suburbs, 5 km from the county, and connects with Nanyue, Jinggangshan, Yandi mausoleum and other well-known scenic spots. Here traffic is convenient, S212, and S320 line connect with scenic area, and "Heng Yan" high-speed and Heng-Cha-Ji railway are close at hand. The human resources are rich. There are Shennong Hall, Xiongfeng Temple, King Hall, Maitreya Temple, Phoenix Temple and other religious sites and anti-Japanese command posts, battlefields, trenches red education places. The natural landscapes here are unique. The Yongle River runs through the whole territory, becoming the same color for river and sky; three major reservoirs of Dayuan, Dashi and Chaan distributed there, green and clear; mountainous Xiongfeng Mountain, Houtanxian, Mangshan, Tiger Nest Cave, Longji Mountain Danxia Landforms, Mangshan Terraces, Julong Waterfalls, Xiongxia Red Clouds and beautiful Yuetan Night are famous far and wide. The ecological environment is good. The forest in the park is vast, lush and green, a large number of ancient and famous trees, 1205 kinds of various plants, of which more than 20 species of ancient ginkgo over 130 years and national secondary protection of animals and plants, the original forest amounted to more than 6500 mu.

The entire park, 94.63% of forest coverage rate, is a veritable natural oxygen bar. The tourism facilities are complete. There are Yaowang Temple, Yaowangteng Tea Valley, Baicao Herbal Garden, Xianrenju Longevity Resort and other Shennong cultural bases.
