Chenzhou GDP Up by 15%

On April 26, the Information Office of the Chenzhou Municipal People's Government held a press conference briefing the city’s economic and social achievements in the first quarter of 2011. It is reported that the total output value of the whole city reaches 25.14 billion yuan, up 15% over the previous year, with the growth rate ranking second in Hunan Province. The added values of its primary, secondary and tertiary industries have realized growth rates of 3.2%, 16.7% and 16% respectively. The contribution ratio of secondary industry and tertiary industry to economic growth reached 50.4% and 43.2% respectively, driving economic growth up 7.6% and 6.5% respectively.
 
The processing trade and investment invitation in Chenzhou maintained a sound momentum in the first quarter of 2011. 336,800 square meters of standard workshops have been constructed with the total area ranking first at the city level in Hunan Province. The first quarter of 2011 saw a total export-import volume of Chenzhou hit $72 million, up 247.31% with the increase rate ranking first across Hunan. Paid-in foreign investment in Chenzhou amounted to $150 million, an increase of 26.8% compared to the same period of the previous year and up 5.9% over the average level of Hunan Province. The actual executed domestic fund reached 6.04 billion yuan, an increase of 30.1%, 4.4% higher than the whole province.
