“It was amazed that we earned 50,000yuan last week from the online shop, which was equal to the total volume of two months in earlier days,” gladly said Li Huajun who is one of the chicken farmers of Guiyang Agri-expo Garden. In the beginning of 2016, over 5000 “Mapo free range chickens” which were cultivated by Li Huajun were sold via internet. That was just one case among all the successful online shops of Guiyang agriculture products. According to the statistics, the total sales volume of agriculture products was amounted to 2.78billion yuan in the first quarter.
Guiyang county is a major agriculture county of China, especially on grain and pig. It is also rich in oil tea, tobacco leave, Chinese herbal medicine, fruit, vegetable, and etc. Due to weak marketing capacity of the farmers, the agricultural products can be only sold by some traditional methods, which made the marketing of local agricultural products to be suffered badly. In recent years, Guiyang county promoted the transformation of agricultural production pattern as well as the docking between production and marketing, which helped to establish 425 farmers professional cooperatives and 116 leading agricultural enterprises. The leading enterprises worked together with the agricultural products bases and drove the farmers to sale their products via different methods. The total output value of leading enterprises was amounted to 10.44billion yuan with the sales-output ratio of 92%, including 570million yuan profits. 154,400 farmers were driven by the companies.
In the meantime, Guiyang county tried great efforts on extending the market system of agricultural products that it issued series measures to promote the docking between agricultural products and large farmers market, supermarket, school, and etc., and helped the major merchants and associations to increase the sales of agricultural products. In 2015, the contracting amounts were hit 2.75billion yuan via signing agreements among different parties. In this year, some events concerned about flower trips were organized by Guiyang county, in which the agricultural products were displayed accordingly. 22 contracts covering about 100million yuan were signed on site, which greatly improved the integrated development of industries. It also paid closer attention on the improvement of Guiyang Furong Foods and Pharmaceuticals Processing Park- national demonstration of agricultural industrialization. Currently, 24 foods and pharmaceuticals enterprises have been settled down there, accomplishing 5.52billion yuan output value. Some agricultural products as grain and oil, soft drink, spicy food, tea, herbal medicine, and etc. are popular in the market. Jingxiangyuan bean milk, Jintaihe chili, and some other products are being sold online.
As the first rural Taobao demonstration county of Hunan province, ecommerce merchants contributed greatly to the promotion of agricultural products. From last September, Guiyang county took active actions on improving new businesses of rural ecommerce, reaching producing and marketing cooperation with farmers, cooperatives, processing leading enterprises, cultivating marketing teams and ecommerce entities of agricultural product, and leading further cooperation between processing companies and farmers. In the meantime, Wechat, QQ, Smart Tourism, and other platforms were applied by the county to propagandize the agricultural products. Till now, there are 66 village level rural Taobao service stations and over 100 Taobao shops available in the county, contributing 200million yuan sales of agricultural products.
