Generating Capacity of New Energy Doubles

2016-07-27

It was learned from Chenzhou Reform and Development Commission that in the first half year, the total generating capacity of new energy projects of Chenzhou city was 492.58million kwhs which was doubled compared with last year. 23 grid-connected projects with the capacity of 0.832million kwhs were available during that period, contributing 18% of the total capacity of Chenzhou city (including Liyujiang A & B Power Plants of China Resources with the capacity of 1.80million kwhs).
Wind power projects were being improved greatly that till the end of this June, 19 wind power projects were connected to the grid, covering 397 turbines with the capacity of 881.07million kwhs, up 115% compared last year while up 20 times compared to "11th five-year plan" period. It is about 50% of the grid-connected capacities of Hunan province.

In recent years, Chenzhou city placed great efforts on improving some new energy projects as power energy, bioenergy, photovoltaics, and etc. The first wind power station of Hunan Province- Yangtianhu Wind Power Plant was connected to the grid in 2010, and then more than 20 new energy enterprises were settled down in Chenzhou city, 39 wind power projects were enrolled into national and Hunan provincial approved programs, 3 bioenergy projects were placed to operation, and 2 photovoltaics were covered into HUnan provincial annual development solution. Chenzhou became the 1st pilot of Hunan provincial photovoltaics poverty alleviation in 2016, which aimed to explore new photovoltaics poverty alleviation way for Hunan province.

During "13th five-year plan" period, Chenzhou would keep placing more attention on the new energy industry, issuing more measures to promote the development of wind power energy projects together with ecological recovery, improving photovoltaics poverty alleviation to lift more people out of poverty, promoting bioenergy projects, and exploring more geothermal power projects to improve the development of new energy industry of Hunan province.
