Recently, accompanied with some staffs of Propaganda Department of Beihu District, some followers of “Beihu News” Wechat bought some free-range chickens from Zeng Zhiping who lives in Huanghualing Area of Xianyuling Village, Yao Minority Town. Over 60 chickens and 15kgs eggs were bought by the followers, accounting for over 4000yuan sales volume.

“I paid special on these free-range chickens, feeding them with corn, rice, rice bran, and etc.” As introduced by Zeng Zhiping, over one thousand chickens of different species were fed in his farm. Due to chickens were fed in the mountainous area, not kept in the coop, they were tasted better with better nutrition.

“We are suffered from bad traffic condition and far away from local farmers’ market, so the chickens can’t be sold with good price. I told some cadres of the Propaganda Department about our marketing difficulty, and hoped they can help to do something for us,” said Zeng Zhiping. Thanks for their sound propagandization, more than 100 free-range chickens were sold within 10days, gaining 10,000yuan. Some buyers drove to our farm directly, some gave the help-hand to drive me to the farmers’ market, and some clients placed order via phone.

It was introduced that Huanghualing Area is one of the Hunan provincial poverty-stricken villages, and Zeng Zhiping is one of the poverty-stricken people assisted by the Propaganda Department of Beihu District. This area is with advantageous condition to handle breeding businesses for it is rich of mountainous areas. From the beginning of 2016, the Propaganda Department tried great efforts on lifting local poverty-stricken families out of poverty and carried out different measures accordingly. Till now, 11 families were lifted out of poverty successfully and over one million yuan funds were obtained for assisting the poverty alleviation work.
