It was learned from Chenzhou Tourism and Foreign Affairs Bureau that thanks to the sound weather condition, the comprehensive tourism revenue of Chenzhou City during 2017 Spring Festival hit one billion yuan for the very first time. According to the statistics, total tourism revenue was amounted to 1.15billion yuan, up 24.35%. Over 1.47million visitors traveled to Chenzhou City, up 22.15%. The renting rate of hotels was up to 90.6%, ranking the top place of Hunan Province.

The key features of the festival were as follow:

The main travel method was self-driving. During this holiday, many families chose to travel together with their family members and friends by self-driving. It was recorded that over 60% of the visitors travelled to Dongjiang Lake and Mount Mang followed the self-driving way, while some travel destinations were even higher than 80% rate. Most of the visitors were from Hunan Province and cities of the Pearl River Delta.

Praying trip was one of the hottest purposes. Praying for the New Year is the traditional way for Chinese people, so during the festival, more and more visitors flooded to Suxiangling. According to the data, 120,000 visitors were received by Suxianling-Wanhuayan Landscape during the holiday. In the first day of Chinese New Year, 16,000 visitors went to Shoufo Temple, up 88%. In the fifth day of Chinese New Year, an event called “praying for better life in Huilong Mountain” was held in the ancient temple of Huilong Mountain, which attracted over 5000 people there. It was reported that this event would be last for the 16th day of Chinese New Year.

Rural travelling was still hot. Along with the development of rural inn industry, its service level was being improved accordingly. Rural leisure trip was still hot. Due to its sound natural condition and the influence of 2016 Tourism Festival, Sanhe Village of Beihu District was still one of the hottest tourism destinations of many families of Chenzhou City. According to the record, about 15,000 visitors travelled there every day during the holiday.

More cultural events were held in the city during the festival. Different holiday events, such as rural folk-customs, green ecology, New Year praying, lighting show, and etc. were handled in the city, which attracted large number of visitors.
