Some people were choosing seedlings of tea oil

“Due to the high value of tea oil- about 120yuan/kg, many people are interested in cultivating the tea oil trees. Over20,000 seedlings of the tea oil were sold out in this morning with high price,” gladly said Wang Taixing who is one of the largest seedling planters from Tongshuishan Village, Longtan Town, Jiahe County.

When reporters visited the country fair of Jiahe County, many people were queueing on the stands of tea oil seedling. According to the rough record, 130,000 seedlings of tea oil were sold during that fair day.

In recent years, Jiahe County improved the tea oil industry as one of the accurate poverty alleviation projects. The farmers can be subsidized with 200yuan/mu funds on cultivating the tea oil trees. In the meantime, some large companies which are professional on tea oil industry were introduced into the county. 7 professional tea oil cooperatives were developed there, which attracted more than 2000 families to join in this industry. The development mode of “company + professional cooperative + farmer” was well established in the county.

Till the end of 2016, 60,000mu tea oil forests were cultivated there. Jiahe County planned to plant 4000mu new tea oil trees and reconstruct 5800mu forest in 2017. One 10,000-mu tea oil town, ten 1,000-mu tea oil village, and 90 tea oil families would be improved in that year as well according to the plan. Currently, 4000mu lands have been prepared for the cultivation, 2600mu of which has been planted with the 286,000 seedlings.
