Poverty Alleviation: Achievements in 2016 and Targets for 2017

Chenzhou City’s achievements on poverty alleviation in 2016

1. 80409 poverty stricken people were lifted out of poverty and 68 poverty-stricken villages were removed from the poverty list. The qualification rate for Hunan provincial inspection of removal of poverty list was 100%.

2. 191 villages were enrolled into the key poverty alleviation villages of national rural tourism.

3. 1.559billion yuan small loans were issued to poverty alleviation, which benefited 120,000 people from 39,246 poverty-stricken families. The total amounts ranked the 2nd place of Hunan Province.

4. Photovoltaic poverty alleviation: currently 51 village level stations and 82 family level stations have been built in the city.

5. 15,613 people were removed to relative poverty alleviation removal place, accounting for 113% annual task. It was ranked the top place of Hunan Province.

6. 4396 poverty-stricken people were benefited with professional training and 4923 exceptional poverty-stricken students were favored with school-aid funds.

7. 1361 cadres from 1019 units were dispatched to 528 poverty-stricken villages. 1.527billion yuan funds were placed on the poverty alleviation work. 428 private enterprises were docked with 465 villages, which helped to support 21,291 poverty-stricken families.

 

Chenzhou City’s targets on poverty alleviation in 2017

Key target: 100,000 to be lifted out of poverty and 267 poverty- stricken villages to be removed from the list of poverty. The achievements gained in 2016 should be well consolidated, especially the 80,400 people who were lifted out of poverty and 68 villages which were removed from the list in 2016.

1. 32,635 people are aimed to be removed to relative removal place of poverty alleviation;

2. The checking and verification work of 24,000 people under minimum living standard are aimed to be finished in 2017. It is purposely to cover all the people under minimum living standard into the insurance.
