The total mileage is amounted to 17693kms in Chenzhou City
It was learned from Chenzhou Transportation Bureau that in Chenzhou City kept placing investments on expressways, rural highways, and tourism roads in recent years, currently the total mileage is amounted to 17693km. The average density of highways is 91.37kms/ one hundred square kms and the grade channel is 663kms.
In order to ease the high pressure of inter-city transportation, Chenyong Avenue, ring road of 107 national road, and some other projects were handled out by the city. In the meantime, the improvement of Hunan provincial highways was fully carried out there as well. More than 40 new and reconstructed rural roads were built there, which granted all administrative villages with concrete roads. Furthermore, bus terminals and bus stops were improved greatly. The bus terminal was removed to new place and inter-city bus stops were placed into operation. More than 120 urban bus stops were built there. Currently, , there are three 1st grade, twelve 2nd grade, and five 3rd grade public bus terminals available for the urban-rural public transportation; 113 rural administrative villages’ bus stops and 1244 rural bus stops were facilitated there; 99.2% villages got access with public buses; and 173 public bus routes were upgraded.
In recent years, Chenzhou City took active actions on improving the transportation condition via creating sound development situation in the city. Till now, 37,000 business operators joined in the road freight, operating 39,000 freight cars, 1838 public vehicles, and 1646 taxies; 552 boats and 100 ferries are being operated in 113 docks of the city; 65 vehicle driver training schools and 2031 motor maintenance companies are available there. The system concerned for the emergency security of transportation has been improved gradually and the transportation production capacity, supporting level, and economic profits are upgraded remarkably.
It was introduced that 7.5billion yuan new investments would be placed on the transportation projects in 2017, including 29 arterial highways (556kms in total). In the meantime, more efforts would be tried on the improvement of comprehensive three dimensional transportation network, which is purposely to form a three-dimensional and modern transportation system in the city.
