420,000mu tobacco leaves planned to be cultivated in Chenzhou City in 2017, purchasing 1.068million loads of tobacco leaves

2017 working conference concerned for tobacco work was held in Chenzhou City recently. Details about the tobacco work of 2017 were fully clarified on the conference. Liu Zhiren- Deputy Secretary of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Chenzhou City required that the tobacco industry should be improved via transformation development.

According to the plan, 420,000mu tobacco leaves would be cultivated in the city in 2017, purchasing 1.068millionn loads of tobacco leaves.

As stated by Liu Zhiren, tobacco industry is one of the key mainstay industries and people-enriching industries of Chenzhou City. Currently, the total volume of tobacco leaves of China was decreased, but more favorable poverty alleviation policies concerned for the tobacco leave industry were issued by Central Government, which is more positive news for Chenzhou City. All departments should well study the situation and seize the chance to improve the transformation development of tobacco industry, trying best to improve it to be top level brand of China.

Liu required that the key points should be highlighted, especially the industrial transformation development of tobacco industry. More attention should be placed on the quality of tobacco leaves. The relative departments should play their best advantages and manifest the features of Chenzhou ecology, improving Chenzhou tobacco to be the most influential tobacco brand of “green ecological and strong-flavor tobacco”; should pay closer attention on better management and improve the production level of the industry; should serve the tobacco farmers with better technological service via closer cooperation with relative departments; should make the tobacco farmers be confident about their businesses via controlling potential risks; and should improve the infrastructure work for the tobacco industry based on party construction and poverty alleviation work.

Liu emphasized that more attention should be focused on implementing the tasks based on current practical condition. All departments should enhance the leadership to improve the work step by step; should figure out working plan and sign contract with the farmers, ensuring the plantation plan to be kept stably; should handle out stricter supervision and assessment mechanism to supervise the purchasing work of tobacco leaves.

On the conference, the principals of some tobacco production areas submitted their 2017 liability statements on production and purchasing of tobacco leaves.
