On May 18, the opening ceremony of the 3rd international academic seminar of 2017 Hunan Chenzhou Asian Dinosaur Association was held in the City Sports Center.

The Chairman of Asian Dinosaur Association Dong Zhiming pointed out that the history of dinosaur research in China can be traced back to the early 20th century. The dinosaur fossils are very abundant in China. There are about more than 170 species of dinosaur fossil, covering almost all the major groups of dinosaur. To promote the development of dinosaur culture, and strengthen the scientific research cooperation, academic exchanges, popular science education and the cultivation and development of dinosaur culture industry among Asian countries, the Asian Dinosaur Association was formally established in 2013. Since then, the international academic seminar has been held every two years. With the strong support of the municipal government, the 3rd international academic seminar was held in Chenzhou this year.

In this seminar, the Asian Dinosaur Association Secretariat was settled in our city. The Chinese Dinosaur Association Preparatory Office will also be set up in Chengzhou.

Vice Mayor He Jianxiang said that she will fully support the Asian Dinosaur Association to carry out the scientific research cooperation, academic exchanges, popular science education, dinosaur cultural industry cultivation and other work in Chenzhou in the future.
