The 5th CMGS opened in Chenzhou Sports Center on May 18.

On the morning of May 18, the 5th China (Hunan) International Mineral Gem Show (CMGS) opened in Chenzhou. This CMGS was jointly sponsored by the Hunan Provincial People's Government and Ministry of Land and Resources, and jointly contractors by the Hunan Land and Resources Department and Chenzhou Municipal People's Government with the theme of "magical crystal, colorful fluorite".

The main exhibition hall is located in the city's International Convention and Exhibition Center, the exhibition area of 100,000 square meters and set a total of 2600 international standard booths. It is an international event of mineral gems with distinctive theme, treasures collection, rich content, wonderful activities, common friendship, and common development.

The Deputy Governor Xiang Lili announced the opening. Member of the Party Committee and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Land and Resources Ling Yueming, the 15th Central Committee of the CPC and former Minister of Geology and Mineral Resources Department Song Ruixiang and other leaders and guests attended. Party Secretary and Director of Municipal People's Congress Standing Committee Yi Pengfei made a speech at the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony was chaired by Chen Zhongbo, Deputy Secretary General of Provincial Government and Deputy Director of Organizing Committee of CMGS.

Yi Pengfei said that a series of colorful theme activities will be launched in accordance with the requirement of "internationalization, specialization, branding, standardization, marketization, industrialization" to let everyone feel the unique charm of "the capital of crystal mines and colorful Chenzhou", make this CMGS become an international exhibition, boutique exhibition and integrity exhibition, and develop Chenzhou into the mineral gem expo and international trading center. And the CMGS as the link between the world, the link of industry transformation and the link of city-industry integration, can promote Chenzhou cultural tourism, modern logistics, health pension industry and other emerging industries, and really transfer the resource and ecological advantages of Chenzhou into economic and development advantages.

Yi Pengfei said that the most beautiful environment and most beautiful image of Chenzhou will accept the attention, admiration and examination of the world through the CMGS；the open and inclusive, realistic and innovative Chenzhou people will discuss the plan for entrepreneurship and seek common development strategies to create a better tomorrow for the global mineral gem industry with the friends from all over the world with more open mind and more high-quality service.

Ntsinyi Lebohang, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Lesotho, made a speech in the opening ceremony. She said she can breathe the fresh and pleasant air to make her happy when she comes to Chenzhou every time. Mining is one of the fastest growing industries in the kingdom of Lesotho over the past ten years and continues to grow. The minerals currently developed include diamonds, sandstones, diabases and clay minerals. Lesotho is world famous for producing quality diamonds and various investment opportunities (including diamond cutting and grinding) and will also participate in the CMGS in Chenzhou to show the gems produced in the country.

American astronaut Dr. Harrison Schmidt participated in the Apollo moon project and conducted a first-hand study for the geographical features of Moon Littrow Valley. He shared his working experience on the moon in his speech.

The relevant departments of Ministry of Land and Resources, provincial departments responsible person, municipal leaders Chen Xuechu, Li Ping, Zhang Aiguo, Shou Jianzhong, Jiang Feng, Li Chao, Pang Tao, Zhang Weifeng, Wang Honglang, Feng Haiyan, Liu Zhiwei, Ouyang Feng, special guests, experts and scholars, and Chinese and foreign media reporters also participated in the opening ceremony.
