On May 17, the first session of general assembly of Chenzhou Film Distribution & Exhibition Industry Association was held successfully, marking the first municipal film industry association was formally established in our city.

In recent years, Chenzhou film industry developed rapidly. Since the construction of digital cinema in 2012, there have been 33 digital cinemas, 10 city and county level film distribution companies, 136 rural square film projection teams, 1850 employees and more than 21,000 digital cinema seats in whole city. In 2016, the box office of city's film industry was more than 78 million yuan, an increase of 50%. The movie box office returns are expected to exceed 100 million in 2017

It was reported that the first member of association is 54 units, the second largest film industry association in Hunan Province, which marks the city's film industry to a new stage of development. The main tasks of the association are to strength the communication between the members with government and society, participate in industry management and public services, maintain fair competition in the industry and overall interests of the industry, and flourish and develop the film industry in our city.
