2017-07-22

From July 17 to 19, Deputy Director of the Municipal People's Congress Standing Committee Gao Aiguo led the investigation team carried out the field investigation on the current rural sewage and garbage collection and treatment and held the related municipal units research forum.

In recent years, our city has constructed more than 70 township garbage transfer stations, 20,000 village garbage collection and transportation points, 7 township sewage treatment plants and 76.8 km town sewage collection pipe network, and completed 1.0091 million reformed toilets and 63 projects construction of provincial agricultural source pollution prevention and control. But there still exist some problems and difficulties, such as the urban and county work is not balanced, the work force of functional departments is insufficient, the long-term working mechanism is not perfect, and the main role of the villagers is not enough.

Gao Aiguo pointed out that the municipal departments should give full play to their advantages and leading role in strengthening the support and guidance for county, township and village sewage and garbage collection and processing work; should highlight the focus on the important and difficult issues to ensure the effectiveness of work; should strengthen guidance and give full play to the main role of the masses and jointly safeguard the rural environment; should strengthen the integration of resources, raise funds in many channels, orderly promote the sewage and garbage collection and disposal infrastructure; should establish a long-term management mechanism and rationalize the working mechanism to achieve unified command and dispatch, unified planning and design, unified construction and promotion, unified assessment and acceptance, and unified work assessment; should give full play to the role of the people's congresses at all levels and supervise and support the work concerning the people's livelihood and rural development.
