On the morning of July 23, Deputy Secretary of Municipal Party Committee and Mayor Liu Zhiren and his entourage conducted the surprise inspection on the fire safety work in Beihu Market. Liu Zhiren stressed to further strengthen the market's fire safety management, adhere to the problem-oriented, and increase the rectification efforts to ensure the safety of people's lives and property.

Beihu market is located in the city center, with a total construction area of 36,200 square meters, and is the largest comprehensive wholesale and retail market in the city, the average daily flow of more than 10,000 people. Liu Zhiren carefully checked the fire safety facilities, equipment and fire channels of the market and communicated with the responsible person of surrounding shops.

Liu Zhiren required that the relevant departments should improve the market's fire monitoring system and put into use as soon as possible; should enhance the management level of the market, improve the fire facilities and equipment, and improve the software level; should increase reform efforts and demolish all illegal constructions in accordance with the market planning and design, to ensure the smooth fire channels; should further strengthen the fire knowledge and skills training of market operators, and improve self-help, prevention and emergency response capability.
