On July 25, 2017 annual meeting of "Red Triangle" Economic Development Association was held in Shaoguan. Vice President of Huo Yingdong Group Huo Qigang, Deputy Party Secretary and Mayor Liu Zhiren, and Deputy Secretary of Shaoguan Municipal Committee and Mayor Yin Huanming attended the meeting. Liu Zhiren proposed to accelerate the development of the "red triangle" as a national strategy at the meeting.

Huo Qigang said that "Red Triangle" Economic Promotion Council continued steadily under the strong support of "three cities" party committees, governments and people from all walks of life and effectively promoted the social and economic development of "three cities" in the past year. He hoped that the "three cities" would further develop cooperation, expand thinking, and actively explore new areas, ways and models of cooperation to create a broad road for the common prosperity of the red triangle. In the future, Huo Yingdong Foundation will also continue to uphold the initiative and provide a more powerful platform and service for the future development of the three cities.

At the meeting, Chenzhou as the president of 2016 made the annual work summary and held the president unit handover ceremony. Liu Zhiren on behalf of Chenzhou, passed the emblem of the "red triangle" economic development association to Shaoguan City; Shaoguan as the president of 2017 explained the work plan in 2017. The participants discussed the work plan of "Red Triangle" Economic Development Association in 2017 and defined the tasks and objectives of the association's work this year.

Liu Zhiren said thanked Mr. Huo Yingdong for putting forward the concept and conception of "red triangle", providing a good platform for communication and setting up a bridge of communication; also thanked the Huo Yingdong Foundation for its contribution to the development of the three cities over the years. At the same time also thanked Shaoguan and Ganzhou for their support and concern over the years in Chenzhou.

Liu Zhiren said that "3 +1" regional cooperation has great potential for development. From a political point of view, it fully conforms to the "five major development ideas" put forward by General Secretary Xi Jinping; according to the law of economic development, regional cooperation is an international trend and will promote the resources sharing and cultural exchanges of "three cities and one place"; from the point of view of development, regional cooperation of "3+1" is the development strategy of "three cities and one place", and is also the practical need of the masses; from the existing basis, the "three cities and one place" has a good foundation to widely exchange and mutually understand. Chenzhou should further emancipate the mind, further increase the intensity of innovation, further accelerate the pace of opening up, and actively deepen cooperation with the Huo Yingdong foundation in industry, tourism, infrastructure and so on.

Liu Zhiren suggested that we should accelerate the development of the "Red Triangle" as a national strategy, focus on the regional cooperation, red heritage, green development and other topics, invite the authority to help research, planning and design, plan the region development of the "red triangle" at a higher level, strive to come up with plans before next "two sessions", and gain support for national policy through the proposals and suggestions on "two sessions" put forward by National People's Congress and CPPCC members of "three cities"; "Red Triangle" Economic Promotion should consolidate the existing achievements, adhere to good practices at the same time, and do more special research in the social, economic, ecological, cultural and other areas, to promote the formation of a new model of "red triangle" regional development with scientific theory.

Before the meeting, the leaders of Huo Yingdong Foundation and the "three cities" also held a discussion.
