Total Imports & Exports Value Increased by 12.7% in July

The data released by General Customs Administration on the 8th that the total imports and exports hit 2.32 trillion yuan in July, an increase of 12.7%. Among them, the export value hit 1.32 trillion yuan, an increase of 11.2%; the import value hit 1 trillion yuan, an increase of 14.7%; the trade surplus was 321.2 billion yuan, an increase of 1.4%. Because of the high cardinal number in the same period last year and other factors, the import and export growth rate in July was somewhat lower than in June.

 

From the summary data of the first 7 months of this year, the total value of imports and exports of goods hit 15.46 trillion yuan, an increase of 18.5% over the same period last year. Among them, the export value hit 8.53 trillion yuan, an increase of 14.4%; the import value hit 6.93 trillion yuan, an increase of 24%; the trade surplus was 1.6 trillion yuan, narrowed by 14.5%. The EU, the United States, ASEAN and Japan are our top four trading partners.

 

In the exports, the mechanical and electrical products, and traditional labor-intensive products are still the main export of China. The export value of mechanical and electrical products was 4.87 trillion yuan in the first 7 months, an increase of 14.2% and accounting for 57.1% of total exports. The total exports of clothing, textiles and other 7 categories of labor-intensive products was 1.77 trillion yuan, an increase of 12.3%, accounting for 20.7% of total exports.

 

In the imports, the import volumes and prices of the iron ore, crude oil, natural gas and other commodity raised up. The mechanical and electrical products, automobiles and other imports grew faster. Among them, the import value of mechanical and electrical products was 3.08 trillion yuan, an increase of 14.7%, and the import volum of automobiles was 690,000 cars, an increase of 22%.

 

What is noteworthy is that China's export leading index in July was 41.9, up 0.4 from the last month, indicating that the export situation is still more optimistic.
