A few days ago, the China Earthquake Administration（BEA）issued a report on the assessment of earthquake prevention and disaster reduction work in the whole country in 2017 and Beihu District was rated as the "National advanced unit for earthquake prevention and disaster reduction". In recent years, Beihu District has strengthened the management of macro monitoring point for earthquake prevention and disaster reduction and the earthquake prevention and security demonstration point in rural residential areas, and promoted the standardization construction of the group defense and survey points; made full use of the "5.12" Emergency Publicity Day, Science and Technology Week, Popular Science Day and so on to popularize the knowledge of science in earthquake prevention and disaster reduction, laws and regulations in the organs, campuses, enterprises, rural areas, etc; also organized the citizens, teachers and students to carry out earthquake prevention and disaster reduction emergency drills many times to improve the masses awareness of earthquake prevention and disaster reduction, and self-saving and mutual rescue ability.
