Recently, the selection of 2017 "Hunan's top 10 science and technology news" judged by academician experts and science and technology journalists, and organized by Hunan Association for Science and Technology was announced that the Tongmuling Mining and Metallurgical Site in Guiyang County was selected as the top 10 new archaeological discoveries in China and the Top 10 scientific and technological news in the province in 2017. It was reported that the zinc sulfide ore roasting furnace and roasting process found in the site are the great technological progress in the history of ancient zinc smelting in China, and the polymetallic smelting is the first discovery of archaeology of mining and metallurgy in China, which highlights the advanced level of science and technology in ancient China.
